If you build it, they will come

Who can name the film?!

One of my favourites and so true when it comes to online visibility.

Building your brand's online visibility is SO important.
I bang on about it enough but if people can’t see you, how will they know what service or products you have to offer them?

Brand visibility is more important now, than it has ever been. With businesses having to shut up shop for the foreseeable future due to the COVID-19 pandemic world-wide, you need to let people know you are still OPEN FOR BUSINESS.

So, here are my TOP 3 simple tips to increase your online presence and let people know are you there.

1. Understand your audience

To be able to write engaging and relevant content for your brand, you need to know what your audience's problems are and then base your posts around how you can solve them.

EXAMPLE "Tired of kids spilling their drinks on the sofa and leaving stains? (we've all been there.) Try our stain remover spray that removes even the toughest stains, dries in 5 minutes and leaves your sofa stain-free and smelling great!" BOOM!

Listening is so important and vital in the growth of your business. By conducting surveys, running polls and asking questions allows you to find out so much about your customer’s behaviour and opinion.

A great article by Hubspot goes into more detail about the importance of listening to your customers.

2. Be consistent

Don't post a week's worth of content in one day and then sit back and relax waiting for the calls to come in. Vary your content and look at your insights and when people are engaging with your posts.

You might be surprised to see that actually Tuesday at 5pm is when your followers are engaging the most. Who would have thought?

Mix it up too! Post videos, articles, polls, quizzes, go live!

Keep your viewers and followers engaged.

3. Engage!

Don't just expect your audience to engage with you; you have to work HARD to earn their trust and loyalty!

Start the conversation! Comment on brands and accounts that you follow. Tell them how you love their products or services. Comment why that particular post made you STOP! Was it the image? Style? Colours?

You'll be surprised how many people will then look at your account, follow, comment, and like.

Here are some of my favourite accounts that I follow on Instagram: @thehappysloth @laurajaneillustrations

So, with that in mind, I recommend spending 15 minutes a day looking at other accounts and engaging with them. It shows appreciation and it can also give you inspiration!
